The authentic Mexican roof cantina and lounge introduces to the city a new take on concept dining.
The UAE culinary scene sees the addition of a key player this week, as the newly-opened Aloft Palm Jumeirah announces the opening of its Mexican concept restaurant, Luchador.
The authentic Mexican roof cantina and lounge, located on the 11th floor of the first Aloft property in Dubai, draws inspiration from Mexico’s most iconic and entertaining sport, Lucha Libre. The lively venue seeks to represent the energetic spirit of its namesake through its setting, menu and entertainment. Luchador embraces the bold from all angles, pairing eclectic décor and interiors with exquisite flavours of classic and contemporary Mexican favourites, whilst a resident DJ and live brand further elevate the Latin American spirit.
Commenting on the launch of Dubai’s latest dining sensation, General Manager Max Wiegerinck said: “Luchador celebrates the Mexican way of life, blending incredible food, drinks and entertainment with a strong social scene in an impressive location. We want our guests to feel at home, dance, live, laugh out loud, and create unforgettable memories.
Upon entering the multi-faceted venue, the tone is set with bright wrestling masks adorning an entire section of the restaurant’s façade. Aztec motifs tiles and art embedded within the décor animate the venue, whilst organic style interiors, dark woods and exposed walls add to the character of the informal space. Facing the ocean, Luchador’s extensive outdoor lounge boasts cityscape views of all major landmarks including Burj Al Arab, Burj Khalifa and the Palm. Taking al-fresco dining to the next level, linger for a long afternoon on the contemporary day beds and savour signature cocktails whilst the sun goes down and the music is turned up.
Taking diners on a journey to vibrant Mexico, Luchador serves up signature tacos, guacamoles, ceviches and carnitas to pack a punch for the taste buds. Experience the true taste of Latin America with a selection of starters that include ‘Salmon Guacamole’ and ‘Ensalada Tropical’ prepared with ponzu, quinoa, citrus wedges, and fresh cheese. For a hearty main course, indulge in the ‘Pulpo En Su Tinta’ a unqiue composition of Octopus with red grape, squid ink, creamy rice, banana chips and avocado puree or ‘Pescado Frito’, whole hamour fried with pickled Jalapeños, green salad, tortillas and Mexican rice.
Experiment with colourful cocktail creations designed by entertaining Mexican bartenders at the urban cocktail bar.
Aloft Palm Jumeirah further elevates the city’s buzzing social scene with this new go-to Palm destination.
